There's no arguing that Audi's TT RS costs a pretty penny. At well above $50,000 for a two-door sports coupe, it's a niche player that many budget-minded enthusiasts just won't be able to justify. But what if you could get a car with either two doors or four that shared the same basic chassis and all-wheel-drive system with the Audi, for a lower price?

That car is the new Volkswagen Golf R, a replacement of sorts for the last-generation R32.
